It's funny how fast life happens. One night you go to bed and everything's great, then you wake up to disaster. It seems that no matter how much you prepare or plan ahead, you end up riding a crazy rollercoaster full of dramatics lifts and drops. No matter how hard you hold on, you always get tossed from your seat; and the only thing you can do is respond.
It's so hard to balance the things that really matter with the ones that don't; let go of the latter and hold on tight to the first. Unfortunately, while trying to focus on the important things, the less important ones pile up and pile up until you are buried in a deep hole. You have to set aside time to deal with the petty mistakes and aspects of your life, but while you're trying to deal with those, life is happening--and you have to be part of it. When do we get a break? When is there time to fix what's wrong, and sort through what doesn't matter?
Seemingly, everytime you make a mistake, at least five more mistakes follow, because you didn't deal with the first one. People get hurt, they get angry, they get sad. Everyone else is affected by your decisions and you have to deal with them on top of dealing with everything that's wrong. Why isn't there a "Pause" button for life?
At some point, we have to man-up and be responsible. We have to deal with the things that need to be dealt with, and put aside the things we care about, but really don't matter in the long run.
